Rachel is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a passion for helping clients use their unique strengths to navigate life’s challenges. Rachel graduated from Grand View University in Des Moines with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a minor in psychology. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from Augsburg University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Luther Seminary, both in the Twin Cities. Rachel utilizes a strengths-based approach and a combination of treatment modalities, including family systems, psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Her professional interests include anxiety, trauma, attachment, spirituality, and sexuality (including LGBTQ+).

The Fun Stuff…
Rachel teaches piano and voice lessons as a side gig and is the Director of Music at Luther Memorial Church in Des Moines. Rachel owns her nerdiness, and among her favorite things are Broadway musicals, cooking, the Sims, good coffee, true crime/mystery shows and podcasts, playing board games, doing puzzles, and playing the piano. Perhaps most importantly, she is a devoted fan of the 90s sitcom, Friends.
