The Serious Stuff…
Amy is working towards her Master of Social Work degree through the University of Iowa. Amy is currently a special education teacher with Des Moines Public Schools where she works with transition aged young adults on skills needed to be successful living independently in the community. Amy wants to continue working with teenagers and young adults to help provide support with handling life’s challenges. Amy is a firm believer that your psychological, emotional, and social well-being has an impact on every aspect of your life. Amy’s focus is to capitalize on each person’s strengths and believes that everyone can be successful with the right set of tools.

The Fun Stuff…
Amy grew up in DSM rooting for the Iowa State Cyclones…win or lose. There is something to be said for always rooting for the underdog – it builds character! Other things that Amy enjoys doing in her spare time are spending time with family and friends and is always up for a good game night. Amy also enjoys going out in nature camping and hiking with her husband and two Goldendoodles.
