EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful psychotherapy approach that has helped over an estimated two million people relieve many types of psychological distress. EMDR therapy seems to have a direct effect on the way the brain processes information. Scientific research has established EMDR as effective for post-traumatic stress. Over 20 controlled studies have found consistently that EMDR therapy effectively decreases or eliminates the symptoms of post-traumatic stress for a majority of clients. However, clinicians have also reported success using EMDR therapy in the treatment of panic attacks, complicated grief, phobias, addictions, sexual and physical abuse, stress reduction and more.

LifeWorks has therapists trained to provide EMDR therapy to individuals who may be struggling with trauma and other issues. Please call our office at 515-255-8399 to further discuss your individual needs and we will connect you somebody best suited to work with you or your adolescent.
