The Serious Stuff…
Laurene received her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Drake University. She also earned a master’s degree from The Crown School of Social Work at the University of Chicago. Laurene’s interest and experience includes counseling teens and adults. Her primary areas of focus are anxiety, depression, grief/loss, women’s issues, and career and school-related concerns. Laurene uses a client-centered approach and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals reach their full potential and live their best life.
Laurene sees clients out of the Des Moines office.
The Fun Stuff…
In her free time, Laurene enjoys spending time with family and friends and hiking with her dog, Ollie Waffles. She also enjoys traveling, reading, sewing/crafting, practicing yoga, and tending her veggie garden in the summer.
